shi everyone. last night, a friend and i went on an adventure to tesco lotus (its kind of the walmart here) she just bought a computer there- a cheap one, because her old one crashed.
anyway, the new one wasn't working, so we had to return it. this was anticipated to be a good time because all we really know how to say is "my ow" which means no thanks- i don't want...that kind of thing. we get to tesco- and its huge...lights, stores within stores, banks, very loud Thai intercom announcements...chaos. when we get to the counter, they have to get the english speaker in the store to come help us, so we were able to communicate somehow, but still resorted to "my ow" to return the computer. the staff was super nice to us, and there were no problems. maybe this doesn't sound as funny as it is/was...
on the way home, we grabbed a cab at the front of tesco - cabs are really cheap (under 2$ for anywhere in our hood) but the one we had didn't look like a regular cab...not that this was a big deal, but it kind of looked like an asian 80s mustang. but as the driver opens the door, all of a sudden a blacklight turns on and the cab turns into some sort of rave. this wasn't creepy, the driver just felt the need to have a swinging ride. we laughed, and got home, but we don't really know how to say our exact address, so we often just get dropped off right at the lane and walk. i attempted to tell the driver this, and the proper thing to say would have been "lao sai" which means left side, but i told him "lao sai kwaa" which means left side right. he kind of threw his hands up- not in anger, but just because...then i told him to just stop "jut tee nee" and he did. we opened the door, and the rave light came on.
anyway....this is my everyday life. its average.
and if anyone is going to coldplay in wpg, would you please get me a ticket? just let me know if you do.
