CAMBODIA!?!

hi there everyone.
i'm in cambodia right now. i was in phnom penh, and right now i'm in siam reap...thats where angkor wat is- look that up on wikipedia. its so strange being here...culture shock. people are so so poor. we visited an orphanage where they didn't even have a skipping rope. i did get to meet up with two friends-eileen and kim- who are in cambodia to teach and nurse. that was great. because of the economy its been a bit weird because i can afford to live really high class, and i'm not sure how i feel about that. honestly, when you see world vision posters or hear about poverty, this is it. this is a world vision poster. the people have been very kind, but they are also relentless in pursuit of money...and then the thing is, you can't just hand it out (especially to kids) because you're not sure where it will go, and exploitation is a big issue here. i'm not really sure how i can help or what i will do, but look into some organizations like world vision or the international justice mission and if you can afford it, give some money. this country is terrifying to be quite honest- it experienced genocide as recently as 1979, but people are pressing on...
i think this probably will be my last post from the road, i get back to wpg around 7 on wednesday night. i'll put up some photos yet...but thanks for staying posted and for all the emails along the way. its been great. i love you guys.

Andrea! I haven't written on here in so long and I owe you one of my famous marathon emails. As I'm sure you gathered, life has been very busy here in the last month. I can't wait to tell you all about it. I miss you heaps! I can't wait to catch up with you. I LOVE your photos and I think it's way cool that you get up and get to ride an elephant. I'm pretty sure I can't beat that right now ;)
